DAWN: The ancient sun rises on a strange world of prehistoric wonders, both terrifying and beautiful. Welcome to the Prehistoric Valley. What wonder and terror will this day bring?

MORNING: The sun has risen, and now the prehistoric monsters begin to stir. Morning fog curls around the roots and ferns as the nocturnal creatures hide, and the reptilian giants stir their bones and begin to feed. Predators lurk in the shadowy forests still clinging to night, but in the sun-kissed glades and meadows of the Prehistoric Valley, the herbivores are soon out in force. How long can they safely graze?

INTERLUDE: A clear morning stretches across the Prehistoric Valley; away to the east, a mother pterosaur leaves her nestlings and soars out into the endless sky above the primeval seas, looking for fish to feed her little ones. Dangers abound in this prehistoric world, but for a moment, the sunrise, the waves, and the distant clouds create a peaceful world in which to soar.

NOON: The warm sun is now high over the heads of the feeding herbivores, and all seems well. Huge dragonflies dart and buzz in the sunny glades, and some dinosaurs even begin to doze. But then, the distant quake of footsteps is heard as a huge tyrannosaur appears on the horizon. The plant-eaters are nervous, but the tyrant queen seems only to be passing through from one side of the valley to the other. Or is she?

AFTERNOON: The sun bakes the red rocks and the sand blows like streams of crystal in the badlands south of the Prehistoric Valley. A Therapsid naps in the afternoon sun, but his rest is interrupted when a younger rival enters his territory, demanding a challenge. Instincts flare and a fierce battle ensues, these mammal-like reptiles slashing and biting each other in a desperate attempt to gain the upper hand. In a burst of strength, the younger male is defeated, and scampers away. Victorious, the elder therapsid howls and returns to guarding his domain, for he cannot afford to drop his guard for even a moment.

INTERLUDE: It’s a quiet afternoon in the prehistoric valley until suddenly, a stampede of Struthiomimus crashes into the valley. What are they running from? The thunder of the herd rumbles through the valley as creatures large and small duck for cover or trip over each other in a mad rush to get out of the way.

EVENING: The shadows lengthen in the Prehistoric Valley, and the swamp is already darkening. A pack of carnivores take advantage of the failing light to initiate an elaborate and deceptive strategy. At first, it is like a dance, but it turns into a deadly chase that ends abruptly with the death cry of their prey, a fallen hadrosaur.

DUSK: The sun is setting in the west, and here at the western beaches, it can be seen until the utter end. Here, a family of long-necked Tanystropheus are fishing for their evening meal, but they stop as the darkness begins to settle, and the dangerous world is pierced with a final, calming beam of orange sunset before the night arrives.

NIGHT: The Prehistoric Valley is not quiet during the night, as nocturnal creatures stir and insects abound. The dinosaurs are mostly sleeping, but the few that remain are guests in a strange, moonlit world that looks alien even to them. It should be frightening, but more than anything else, the moonlight seems to calm them and help them navigate home to sleep before another day dawns in the Prehistoric Valley.
